Joseph John Meringleo, 92, died March 8, 2013, at Heartland Rehab Center of Indian Lake, Lakeview.

He was born April 16, 1920, in Cleveland.

Joseph was a graduate of Harrod High School in 1937 and was in the Civilian Conservation Corps until World War II began and then he joined the Army Air Corps. He served as a technical sergeant in the Army from 1940 until 1945. He married Louise M. Page on Nov. 4, 1944, and she preceded him in death Feb. 6, 2010. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church and had worked at C&G Distributing for 54 years, retiring at the age of 90.

Surviving are two daughters, Marilyn Moore, of Huntsville, and Diane (Ben) Dirksen, of Lima; four grandchildren, Jimmy Moore, David Moore, Jessica Dirksen and Shawn Dirksen; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Haunstien, of Ada, and Rose Lautzenheiser, of Marshall, Mich.; and a brother John Crosina, of Elida.

He was preceded in death by a stepfather, Ralph Crosina; and his mother Anna Bartaldo Crosina.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John Catholic Church, Lima. Father David M. Ross will officiate. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.
