OBITUARY
Paul Strelow, brother of Ernst Strelow from New Ulm and a former resident of our town, passed away last Friday in the morning. He succumbed to cancer after he had been suffering from this disease for six months. Two weeks ago his brothers, Ernst from New Ulm, and Albert from Ormsby, Minnesota, and his sister Mrs. August Speckmann from Sleepy Eye went to visit him. At that time they already felt he was close to death.

Paul Strelow was born into this world on September 2nd, 1860 in Pomerania, Germany, and came to the United States in the year 1880. He worked for five months at bottling companies in New York, and subsequently came to Sleepy Eye, where he lived as a farmer until 1889; thereafter he left for New Ulm and worked at Schells Brewery for six years. Then he returned to Sleepy Eye where he owned a tavern. Five years later he moved to a farm close to Puposky. In 1890 he was married to Caroline Simon. A son was born into this marriage, who died at a young age. He leaves behind his widow, and following siblings: Hermann in Germany; Mrs. Karl Dorn in Fairfax, Minnesota; Mrs. August Speckmann in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota; Albert in Ormsby, Minnesota; and Ernst in New Ulm. The funeral took place on Monday morning in Puposky.
