Robert L. Kimmerle, 64, of 431 S. Auburn St. died Tuesday at University Hospital. Mr. Kimmerle was a life resident of Syracuse. He retired in 1984 after 37 years with the purchasing department of Carrier Corp. Mr. Kimmerle was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, the Pastime Athletic Club, the Carrier Recreation Club and the Carrier Retirees Club. A Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Kimmerle was a member of the American Legion. Surviving are his wife, the former Theresa Kuss; a son, Robert D. of Clay; a brother, O. James "Jake" of Syracuse; two grandchildren; an aunt; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Frasier-Shepardson Funeral Home, the Rev. William Herbst officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 1217 N. Salina St.
