Charles F. Muench, 81, of Nashua, formerly of Bedford and Marblehead, MA, died on June 27, 2007.

Mr. Muench grew up in Glendale, New York and was a graduate of Brooklyn Technological High School, Brooklyn. During World War II, he served in Italy with the Army Air Corps as a communications officer. After World War II he attended Lafayette College where he was elected Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to receive his masters in engineering from Lehigh University. Mr. Muench worked at General Electric in Lynn, MA, as a metallurgical engineer for 35 years until his retirement. Mr. Muench enjoyed sports, both as a player and as a spectator, especially baseball. He was passionate about his pet dogs throughout his life.

Mr. Muench was pre-deceased by his wife of 35 years, Ingeborg A. Muench, his neighborhood sweetheart, and his second wife, Mary Muench. He leaves three daughters, Robin Muench and her husband Glenn Holinka, of Wayne, Pennsylvania, Gretchen Campbell and her husband Craig, of Marblehead, MA, and Karen Pierce and her husband Greg, of Marblehead, MA. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Megan, Kelsey, and MacKenzie Campbell of Marblehead, Brian Pierce of Newton, MA, and Sarah Pierce of Austin, Texas.

SERVICES: Visiting hours will be held at DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, One Lock Street, Nashua on Saturday (today) from 1-3 PM. Friends are invited to attend. Interment will be private. Donations in his memory can be made to: Lafayette College, Development Services, Attn: Linda H. Thomson, Director, 307 Marklel Hall, Easton, PA 18042.
