Pallbearers were James, John, Robert, David, Allen, Joel and Kevin Tews and Bruce Hellwig. Lydia M. Tews was born on March 30, 1897 in Acoma Township, McLeod County to Herman and Bertha (Dallmann) Prieve. She was baptized in 1897 and confirmed in 1909, both at the Immanuel Lutheran Church by Rev. J. Albrecht. She grew up and received her education in her home area. She married Alfred Tews at her home on November 18,1920 and she assisted on the family farm and was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her children and spouses, Marvin and Cora Tews, Litchfield; Harold Tews, Hutchinson; Evelyn and Carl Hellwig, Darwin; Elaine and Ellsworth Thies, Gaylord; Arnold and Beatirice Tews, Arlington, 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alfred in 1977, son Eldor, as a child; sisters Amanda Tewes, Agnes Vorbeck, Meta Vorbeck, brothers, William, Theodore, Helmuth, Alfred, Hugo and Arthur Prieve.
