Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. said a 55-year-old Phenix City man William B. Wilson died this morning in an accident when the tractor he was riding flipped over.
"It went into a small creek area," Sumbry said of the accident on 12th Avenue.
Sumbry said Wilson died of blunt force trauma.
Sumbry pronounced Wilson dead at 10:40 a.m.

Phenix City, AL - William "Bill" B. Wilson, 55, of Phenix City, AL passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am EST Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Rev. Dexter James officiating. A private interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens on Monday. The family will receive friends this evening (Friday) from 6 - 8 pm EST at the funeral home.

Bill was born August 30, 1957 in Fort Benning, GA to Jeanette Garrett Wilson of Phenix City and the late Clifford Eugene Wilson. He had worked in construction most of his life and was a Christian by faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working around the yard and anything to do with the outdoors. Other than his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Fredrick Eugene Wilson.

In addition to his mother, Bill is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Debbie Smith Wilson of Phenix City, (2) sons, Scott Wilson and Todd Wilson, sisters, Gloria Wilson Hagen and Gaynelle Wilson Cantrell, (3) grandchildren, Kayla, Cody and Logan Wilson, much extended loving family and many caring friends.
