LANDEN L. COWART "CRAZY LEE" Age 55 of Gary, Indiana passed away March 26, 2005 at St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields, Illinois. A man known and loved by many including his family: loving daughters, Elsie (Virgil) Powell, Saretha Cowart and her loving fiancee'(Ron Squyers), Mary and Nancy Cowart; caring son, Landen Cowart II and his loving fiance' (Jennifer Thamm), all of Gary, Indiana; his loving grandchildren, Dorothy Cowart, Virgil, Vanessa, Jason and Amanda Powell, also of Gary, Indiana. Lee is also survived by his sisters, Mary Louise and Nancy; brother, Sammy; and his father-in-law, Ralph Oldham. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Cowart, sister Lucille Lawrimore and his mother-in-law, Dorothy Oldham. Lee was well known in the community for the man on the hill of Burr and Ridge Road, always waving a friendly gesture to all who knew him. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 1, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home. Friends may call on Thursday, March 31, 2005 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ridgelawn Funeral Home, 4201 West Ridge Road, Gary. 980-5555. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family. Crazy Lee will be deeply missed by his family and many dear friends. May God rest him well.
