Funeral services for Fred Rutz, retired Carpenter was held Sunday March 28th at Zion Lutheran church in Manning with pastor E.F. Heinicke officiating. Mr. Rutz died at his home in Manning on Friday March 26th.
Son of Frederick and Caroline (Bogatke) Rutz, was born November 2, 1887, in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, Iowa.
He lived in Wisconsin for several years as a boy, returning to Manning to work.
He was married December 23, 1914 to Rosa Wenzel, and the couple lived in Manning. Mr. Rutz was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and a former elder.
He was preceded in death by a infant son, his parents, 2 brothers and sister. His is survived by his wife, 4 children, Harold of Des Moines, Miss. Marjorie Mintle, Iowa City, Amos of Manning and Burton of Cedar Rapids. 12 grandchildren and 2 sisters, Mrs. Laura Gregorious, Tacoma, WA and Mrs. Tillie Shattner, Milwaukee, WI., Steve and Marilyn and children, Bruce and Sally and Nate, Kent and Beth and Michelle, Sue and Amy Healy, Karl and Donna and children.
