MARSHALL – Baxter “Black” Cutshall, 100, of Marshall died Wednesday, March 30, 2011.

Mr. Cutshall was born July 13, 1910 in Madison County where he lived all his life and was a member of Spill Corn Church of God. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bascomb and Sophina Sams Cutshall; wife, Ida Norton Cutshall; son, Herman Cutshall; and brothers and sisters.

He was survived by his daughters, Bernice Chapman and husband, Evoid, of Marshall, Pansy Norton and husband, Joe, of Hot Springs, Louise Rice and husband, Oscar, of Mars Hill and Vergie Chandler of Marshall; 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, seven great great-grandchild; sisters, Stella Cutshall, Marie Hensley and Florence Metcalf; and special friend Ralph Bradley.

Funeral services were held at 8 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2011 in the chapel of Madison Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Parker officiating. A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011 in the Pete Roberts Cemetery.
