Domschke

1927-2013

Jacqueline H. Domschke, age 85 passed away March 25, 2013. She was of the Catholic faith and now is with God.

She was born on June 29, 1927, in Tampa, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Roseyel Smith, brother, Reginald Smith, and sister, Olivia Schrack.

Jackie started her career as a cosmetologist in Chicago, IL, where she met and married her first husband, Johnny North, a champion boxer. After a short marriage, they divorced and she moved back to Tampa. In 1958 Jackie married Kurt Wolfgang Domschke, a captain for Errol Flynn. They moved to Venezuela where she continued cosmetology. After years of marriage Jackie and Wolfgang divorced and Jackie moved back to Tampa. She lived with Leon Grinnell for many years until he passed away. Jackie relocated to Milton, FL, to be closer to her son. She resided in Milton until her passing.

At an early age Jackie won Florida's Roller Skating Championship. She was proud of the fact that she opened the first 24 hour beauty salon, in Clearwater, FL, and won many awards during her cosmetology career. Jackie was a Real Estate agent in Tampa, FL, and the Santa Rosa County area. She loved to sing, dance, enjoyed fishing, and walking on the beach. Jackie could sit for hours and tell you her amazing life story and enjoyed doing so every chance she got. There was lots of laughter and occasionally an "I don't believe it", but it was all true. She was a great mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly.

Jackie is survived by her sister, Dottie Manbeck (Phil); niece, Yana Aldin (Gerry); nephew, Brian Smith (Laura) and family; nephew, Lester Schrack; and family. She is also survived by her only son, Wolfgang Kurt Domschke, and his wife, Sandy. Grandchildren Chelsey Marie, 19, Katie Rae, 18, Kurt Wolfgang, 15, and Jake Jager 13. We will all miss Nana and know she will always be watching over us.

A special thank you to the staff at Southern Oaks Nursing Home and Covenant Hospice. A special thank you to Pastor John Giddens for performing the services, God bless you.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12 Noon, Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel, 2276 Airport Blvd. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jackie's life at the home of Kurt and Sandy Domschke after the service.
