Johann Adam Kanzler, known as "Hanadam", was born in Kolb, Russia. He was the son of Johann Jacob Kanzler and Margareth. Adam married Maria Barbara Engelmann in Kolb. Seven known children were born to this marriage.

The tree stood not far him his home, and he worried that someone might be injured if it fell over. While falling the tree, it broke off the top of another tree, which struck Adam, causing his death
