PITTSBURGH, (AP) — Edward Carl Metzel, Sr, 49, assistant safety director of U. S. Steel Corp., died unexpectedly of a heart attack yesterday at his home in Pittsburgh's Squirrel Hill section.
Metzel, a native of Cleveland, had been with U. S. Steel since 1919. The funeral services will be held here Tuesday night with burial Wednesday in Cleveland.

Married Margaret Garven Miller on June 15, 1929. Edward & Margaret had two children.
