Richard R. "Lump" Lerch, 60, of Sligo died following his battle with cancer at Clarview Nursing Home on April 14, 2013.
Born August 7, 1952 in Brookville, PA, he was the son of Ronald "Ardell" and Alda Jane (Shook) Lerch.
Richard was a 1971 Graduate of Union High School. He worked at C&K Coal doing several different jobs, Atikinson Fire Safety Equipment and most recently was an owner/operator over-the-road truck driver.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends especially at the Allegheny River.
On May 13, 1978, Richard married the former Debra "Deb" Graham, she survives.
He was a member of the Sligo Presbyterian Church, and the Canby Masonic Lodge #520 AASR Valley of New Castle Consistory.
He is survived by his wife Deb Lerch of Sligo and 2 sons, Richard "Rich" Lerch Jr and his fiancé Kristen Trexler of Bethlehem, PA and Robert "Ryan" Lerch of Bethlehem, PA. His mother Alda JaneLerch and his mother in law Connie Graham. 2 sisters Deneice Bartley and her husband Audley of St. Petersburg, PA and Robin Kriebel and her husband Van of Parker, PA
Richard is also survived by 2 brother in laws Robert A. Graham Jr. and wife Lana of Knox, PA. Michael Graham and wife Margaret of Rimersburg, PA. His Aunt Ina and Uncle Jerome Summerville, Aunt Mary and Uncle Roy Hile and Uncle Ame Lerch. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father Ardell Lerch and father in law Robert A. Graham.

"Lump" Lerch will be received 2-4, 6-8pm Wednesday April 17, 2013 at the Varner Funeral Home 1632 Bald Eagle Street, Sligo, PA 16255 Funeral services will be held at 11am Thursday April 18, 2013 the Varner Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephanie Weaver officiating. Private burial will follow in Cedarview Memorial Park.
