David Lauren Flecksing, 41, formerly of Des Moines, died Tuesday, June 27, 1995, in his parents home from complications of AIDS. Memorial Mass: 2 p.m. Tuesday, St. Pius X Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Donald Klein. Inurnment: Dunkard Cemetery, Midway. There will be no visitation. Stewart Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his parents, Robert and Barbara Flecksing of Toddville; four brothers, Dale of Mount Vernon, Stephen of Georgetown, Colo., Kurt of Boulder, Colo., and William of Cedar Rapids; and five sisters, Anne Lullie of Lake In The Hills, Ill., Katherine Flecksing of Steamboat Springs, Colo., Laura Bialas of Maui, Hawaii, Maria Flecksing of Boulder, Colo., and Joan Flecksing of Toddville.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Brian.
David was born Dec. 5, 1953, in Cedar Rapids to Robert and Barbara Brashier Flecksing. David graduated from Regis High School and served with the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Mercy, Cedar Rapids; AIDS Project of Central Iowa, 414 12th St., Des Moines 50309; or Rapids AIDS Project, c/o American Red Cross in Cedar Rapids.
