Joshua died on Tuesday evening, April 16, 2013.

Joshua John Kitzmann was born September 1, 1991 to Jay and Joan (Jorgenson) Kitzmann in Bakersfield, CA at the Memorial hospital. He was born the day after his dad's birthday. He lived with his parents and big sister, Samantha, in various cities on the western coast of the United States until the 1996 when they moved back home to Watford City. There he enjoyed being out on his grandparents (Dale and Barb Jorgenson) ranch east of Watford City until he started kindergarten in Watford City.

Joshua was a very outgoing young man and made friends easily, Josh's friends that he made remained his friends his entire life; for he cherished each and every one of them.

Josh's interests lay with hockey which he started playing for the Watford City Oilers at the age of 7 and played through grade school and high school. He attended high school until the age of 16 and ultimately completed by receiving his GED.

He belonged to the Keene Lucky Leaf 4H club which he competed in horsemanship with his horse Taz (short for Tasmanian devil) they were quite the fit, both stubborn and hard headed. Taz was determined to buck him off and Josh was determined not to let it happen. They were a perfect match.

He enjoyed four wheeling and driving through the biggest and messiest mud and snow banks with his 1996 7.2 diesel pick-up that his grandparents bought him, he said he always wanted a pickup like that. While driving by the pickup before it was purchased, Josh said that the pickup picked him out; he was very proud of what he had.

Josh had one of the biggest German Sheppard dogs you have ever seen, named "Bear" and he is a bear. It was a dog and a boy that was Bear's human and he was the biggest lap dog ever. Bear now lives happily with Josh's grandparents on the ranch.

At the time when Joshua John's life ended he was residing with his mother, Joan in Watford City.

Joshua is survived by his mother, Joan Kitzmann of Watford City; sister, Samantha Kitzmann of Watford City; nephew, Deagan Liedtke; grandparents, Dale and Barbara Jorgenson of Watford City; uncles, Tim (Sue) Jorgenson, and their children Shane and Clay, Tom (Teresa) Jorgenson and their children, Chris, Seth and Shelby, Jerry (Dani) Kitzmann and their children, DJ, and Tammy, and Kim (Mary Ann) Kitzmann; special friend, Savannah Norton along with her three children, Jasiah, Ayla, and Maleah; and many, many friends.

Joshua was preceded in death by his father, Jay Morrie Kitzmann; and grandparents, Elsie and Donald Emch.
