Viet Nam BSM-PHLieut. U.S. Army, Vietnam War-Lt. O'Neill was killed in action when his Helicopter {UH-1H} crashed while on a resupply run for the Marines at Fire Base "Winchester" on 3-9-1969 while serving with Co. B of the 101st Aviation Battalion, 101st Airborne Division. Lt. O'Neill started his tour of Vietnam on December 2, 1968.

He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. John E. O'Neill of 305 West Park Street, Butte, Montana, and the husband of Mrs. Mary B. O'Neill of Butte. He is a 1963 graduate of the Butte School System.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Air Medal, Lt. Bars, Pilot Wings, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal.
