Frederick Kuntz petitioned the Orphan's Court of Northampton County to appoint a guardian for the minor children, Hannah, Catharine, Jacob, Susannah and Mary, all under the age of fourteen of his recently deceased brother-in-law, Henry Best, of Lehigh township. The court appointed as guardians two of the children's uncles, John Saeger husband of Anna Catharina nee Kuntz and George Kuntz.
