"Grandmother Raver's (Cornelia Jane Mets Raver) parents (David Mets & Mary Willow) were precious little old people. Great Grandmother (Mary Mets) was a dear little old lady. Now I do not know whether they came from the Amish, the Quakers, or the Dunkards, but I know she always wore a black dress, a little white cap, and a white apron." excerpt from letter by Lola
Per Great Granddaughter, the name was changed from METZ to METS after destruction of original headstones and hatred of anything German during wars. Some children kept METZ and some changed to METS. There are also simply errors in spelling on documents.
