Beth Evelyn Bauer, 82 of Gering, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Regional West Medical Center.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, Jan. 19, at 10 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Gering, with Pastor Lauren Ekdahl officiating. Inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Gering. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.geringchapel.com. Gering Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Nov. 14, 1926, in Shelby, Neb., to Charles and Helen (McGrew) Lucas. She graduated from high school in Cheyenne, Wyo., in 1944, and was a graduate of West Nebraska General Hospital in 1947, as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Heritage Health Care and also at the West Nebraska Methodist Hospital when it was located downtown.
Beth was united in marriage to Alvin L. Bauer on June 26, 1949, in Scottsbluff, and to this union three children were born, JoAnn, William and James.
She loved her family will be sadly missed by all.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Gering since 1952.
Beth is survived by her husband of 59 years, Alvin; daughter, JoAnn (William) Lathrop of Gering; son, William D. (Janet) Bauer of Gering; grandchildren, Lindsey Lathrop, Shana Lathrop (fiance, Levi Twombly), Erin Bauer, Meagan (Andy) Stobel and Victoria Bauer; and two great-grandchildren, Sheridan and Carter.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son, James P. Bauer.
