Myrtle L. Strouf age 101, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday morning, April 24, 2013 at Shady Lane.
The former Myrtle Baetz was born on January 24, 1912 in Huilsburg, WI, daughter of the late Fred C. and Marie (Burnett) Baetz. On December 16, 1933 Myrtle was married to Harvey F. Strouf at Huilsburg, WI. The couple celebrated 73 years of marriage and Harvey preceded her in death on July 15, 2007. Myrtle loved being a homemaker for her family and was supportive of her husband's 40 year career as Clerk of Circuit Court of Manitowoc County. She loved people and enjoyed working as a nurse's aid at Shady Lane Home. Myrtle was a member of St. John United Church of Christ.
Survivors include: one daughter: Marcia Boler, Menomonee Falls; two married grandchildren: Barbara (Tim) Kluth, Germantown; John (Karen) Boler, Hartland; five great grandchildren: Liliana and Bella Kluth, Samuel and Sophia Boler, Erika (Shane) Kelbel; one great great grandchild: Layla Kelbel; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends survive. Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents: Fred and Marie Baetz; her husband: Harvey F. Strouf; her son-in-law: William Boler; one sister; one brother and her twin brother; and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013 at St. John United Church of Christ, 1501 Marshall St. Manitowoc. The Rev. Dr. Jim Klein will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. John United Church of Christ, The Gideon Bible Society, The American Cancer Society or Laurel Grove Assisted Living/Shady Lane Nursing Care Center.
