Charles Herbert Martin, 75, of School street Pawling, died last Thursday in Vaasar hospital where he had been a patient for four days. Mr. Martin died on his 51st wedding anniversary, he having married Miss Sarah Jane Dawson in Pawling, March 28, 1906. Born in LaGrangeville, Nov 16, 1881 Mr. Martin was the son of the late Charles and Phoebe Jane Robison Martin. He came to Pawling 70 years ago, to make his home. Retired in recent years, Mr Martin had formerly been associated with the New York Central railroad for 37 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal church, Pawling, the Pawling Fire department and of the Brotherhood of Firemen and Engineers. Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Duarte, New York City; Mrs. Hazel Kitt Poughkeepsie, and Mrs. Gladys Hill, Stony Creek. Conn.; a son, Clyde D. Martin, Pawling; seven grandchildren: four great grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. William Buckley, Poughquag.
