Pauline Louise Flader Potts, died Monday, February 10, 2003 peacefully in her sleep at Palatka Care Center.
She was born October 8, 1918 to Nora Martin Flader and Paul Flader in San Dimas, Calif. She attended schools in San Dimas and graduated from Bonita High School, Pomona, Calif. in 1936.
She married Wallace Curtis Potts on August 19, 1936 in Belvedere Gardens, Calif. They lived in Los Angeles until they moved with their two daughters to Miami in 1941, where they resided until 1991. She then divided her time between Miami and Palatka, living with her two daughters until 1995 when she made her home in Palatka with her daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Bill Pace. In Miami, she had worked for many years until her retirement at Health Foods Central, Coconut Grove.
A devoted and loving wife and mother, Mrs. Potts got her main joy from being with her family, especially the fun she had with her grandchildren. She enjoyed her dogs, dancing and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a favorite of friends and acquaintances.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, Raymond Flader; and sister; Rowena Flader Collins.
She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Bill Pace, Palatka; daughter, Charlene Potts Beckett, Miami; her grandchildren, Victoria Pace Wood, Tampa; Katrina Pace Reid, Orlando; Matthew Fox Pace, Palatka; Keith Eugene Beckett, Miami; Stacey Beckett Dean, Bradenton; and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association (North Florida Region), 2123 Mango Place, Jacksonville, FL 32207 or to a favorite charity.
Graveside services will be Saturday, Feb. 15 at Flagler Memorial Park in Miami, under the direction of Van Orsdel's (Bird Road Chapel). No local service is planned.
