Mr. Wilfrid Jerome Knies, 88, a resident of Morton Drive, Fayetteville, and a retired procurement analyst with Redstone Arsenal, died Tuesday morning (May 21, 1996) at his residence following a long illness. A native of Winchester, he was the son of the late John and Zuella Minnich Knies. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ruby Dickey Knies of Fayetteville; a daughter, Mrs. Gail Knies Angulo of Fayetteville; a brother, Mr. Hugh Knies of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Hart of Nashville; five grandchildren, Karla Crowser, Kimberly Spina, Jimmy Douglas, Jeffrey Douglas, and Shanon Allish; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday morning at Higgins Funeral Home with Father Tom McElhinney officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church or to the charity of your choice.
