Amy Lynn Hughes age 42, of the Skaggs Hill Community of Pennington Gap, VA was born in Harlan, KY on Monday, November 16, 1970 and passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. She was theValedictorian at Keokee High School Graduating Class of 1989. Amy had worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier servicing Route 3 and was a member of the Victory Apostolic Church in Pennington Gap, VA. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Flora Davis and Martin Davis and Curtis Rowe. Amy is survived by her husband Jamie Hughes of the home, her children Ethan Harley Hughes and Madison Paige Hughes both of the home, her parents Charles (Bert) and Alma Davis of the Scaggs Hill Community, one sister Mary Kilgore and husband, Bobby of Church Hill, TN, her grandmother Ruby Depew of Pennington Gap, VA and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington Gap, VA with Pastor Boyd Holder officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM Monday until the time of the service. The graveside service will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at the Robbins Chapel Cemetery in Keokee, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 Tuesday to go to the cemetery.
