Anna Mae (Spille) Wasson (1927 - 2011)

Anna Mae Wasson, 84, of Union City, Ind., passed away Saturday, December 3, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

She was born May 1, 1927 in Union City, Ind., to the late John H. and Elsie M. (Hermanns) Spille. She was a graduate of Wayne Township High School and Fort Wayne Business College. She worked as a secretary for Backstay Welt in Union City for 19 years and later worked as a medical transcriptionist at the Union City Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the South Salem Church of Christ, where she enjoyed playing the piano and organ for many years. She was a faithful member of the Sweet Adelines and the Cecelian Music Club. She also loved doing needlework.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, James W. Wasson of Union City, Ind.; her daughter, Carol E. (husband Bruce) Montgomery of Johnson City, Tenn.; her son, Mark A. (wife Betty) Wasson of Union City, Ind.; five grandchildren, Andrea (husband Brad) Fissel, Erin (husband Scott) Veese, Andrew (wife Angelia) Montgomery, Carrie (husband Glen) Perry, and Alan Wasson; 10 great grandchildren; two brothers, Erwin Heinz Spille and Reinert Spille; one sister, Erna (husband Junior) Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Brian K. Wasson.
