Harlan Jeddeloh Dies Monday of Fractured Skull A 1962 graduate of Waldorf-Pemberton high school died about four hours after he was injured in a one-car crash near Amboy early Monday morning. Killed when his car left Highway 30 two miles west of Amboy was Harlan A. Jeddeloh, 18, son of the Arthur M. Jeddeloh, R. 1, Waldorf. Jeddeloh died of a fractured skull at 6:45 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph’s hospital, Mankato, where he had been taken by ambulance. The Minnesota Highway Patrol said the youth’s vehicle went off the north side of Highway 30, struck a driveway approach to the Robert Thompson farm, and rolled over once, landing on its wheels. A blowing car horn awakened the Thompsons about 2:30 a.m. Mrs. Thompson said she believed they awakened immediately following the crash. “We got up and listened,” she said. “It sounded like a car horn. We both ran out to the scene. He was in the front seat of the car” The Thompsons called an Amboy doctor who summoned patrolman and an ambulance. The patrol said the 1956 model car was a total loss. Jeddeloh had been visiting at the home of his girl friend, Lavonne Pankratz, at Mountain Lake and was returning to his home when the tragedy occurred. Miss Pankratz said the youth left her house about 1:30 a.m. JEDDELOH was to begin a six-month tour of duty with the U. S. Army next week. He had been working at the family farm since graduating last spring. His death was the third traffic fatality in Blue Earth county this year. Harlan Arthur Heddeloh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jeddeloh of Waldorf was born January 21, 1944 at Waseca Memorial hospital. He graduated June 1, 1962 from Waldorf high school. Survivors are his parents and one brother, Donald, at home. Visitation may be made at the Arnoldt Funeral home in Janesville Wednesday and Thursday until noon. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 28, conducted by the Rev. C. Helmich at the First Lutheran church at Waldorf. Interment will be at the Woodville cemetery, Waseca. Pallbearers are Donald Manke, Duane Krienke, Roger Coy, Stanley Stiernagle, Eddie Possin and Gene Groskreutz.
