After Gottfried [Sr.] death his son Gottfried [Jr.] leaves for America with his Uncle Gottlieb Quast and family. They sailed aboard the SS "Vaderland", leaving the Port of Antwerp, Belgium early in May of 1877 and arrived at Castle Garden, New York on the 17th of May 1877.
