Frank Schmutzler was born in Syracuse, NY in April 1884 to Louis & Louise Schmutzler. The family lived in the Syracuse area until the turn of the century when they relocated briefly to Barberton, OH; presumably in search of work.
Frank did find work at the Columbia Chemical Co. (became PPG Industries) where he did work as a potter. Tragically, he was killed at age 19 in 1903, by an electric crane.
