MARNE KRUEGER
(1921 - 1968)

Marne W. Krueger, 46, of Collins, died Friday at Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc, after a year's illness.

Son of Helen Reinhold Krueger and the late George H. Krueger, he was born May 18, 1921, in the Town of Eaton, Manitowoc County. He attended Niles Public School and in 1939 was graduated from Valders High School. He attended agricultural courses at the University of Wisconsin in 1940 and 1941.

On May 18, 1946, he was married to Miss Beatrice Matznick of Brillion in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Collins. The couple farmed for a while in Rockland and Schleswig Townships. Later, Mr. Krueger operated a grocery store in Collins. He also operated a fleet of milk trucks for Whitehouse Milk Co. He kept an aviary which his father had kept for 50 years.

He was a member of St. Peter's Church, Collins; a former school board member for St. Peter's School; and a member of Collins Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the Manitowoc County Grocers Association; the Manitowoc County Beekeepers Association; and the Collins Businessmen's Association.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Marcia, at home; a son, Marne Lee, at home; three brothers, Merlin of Two Rivers, Harlan of R. 4, Chilton, and Victor of Reedsville; and his mother, Mrs. George H. Krueger, R. 4, Chilton.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Church, Collins. The Rev. Robert Wendland, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at Reedsville Funeral Home from 3 p.m. Monday until 11 a.m. Tuesday and at the church Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services.
