Mr. Werling, a cement contractor for 25 years, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at his residence after an illness of eight weeks. He was born in Burkettsville and lived here 31 years.
He was a member of the Knights of St. John Commandery No. 131, the Holy Name society of the church and of the Mad River Township civic order.
Surviving are his wife, Alvina; four daughters, Mrs. Irene Schumacher, Mrs. Kathleen Chmiel, Mrs. Alfreda Carmody and Mrs. Geraldine Fisher, of Dayton; two sons, Robert A. and Eugene G., of Dayton; five sisters, Mrs. Verona Gottas of Revere Beach, Fla., Mrs. Regina Shaefer and Mrs. Mary Herring, both of Van Wert, Mrs. Esther Romer of St. Henry and Mrs. Agnes Vandewater of Cincinnati; four brothers, Rudolph of Dayton, Albert of Burkettsville, George of New Castle, Ind., and Joseph of Coldwater; and 11 grandchildren.
