Maud Ursula McGee wa born in Franklin, TN on 18 Oct 1891 to parents Jesse Henry Frank McGee (1857-1918) and Martha Ida Cotton McGee (1863-1939).

By the time she was 20, she had moved to Arkansas. Her first marriage was to Raymond C. Knott (1985-1930) on 24 Nov 1911 in Beech Grove, AR. Ray was a traveling salesman of dry goods. They had a daughter: Madeline "Mattie" Lee Knott (1912-1960).

Maud and Ray were divorced in Blytheville, AR on 7 Sep 1914.

Seven days later on 14 Sep 1914, Maud married Luther Martin Tanner, Sr. (1860-1930) in Blytheville. This was the second marriage for Luther whose first wife Elizabeth May (Lambert) Tanner (1859-1922) had died three years prior.

Luther and Elizabeth (his first wife) had 5 children: Wilo Mamie Tanner (1885-1975), Nellie Pearl Tanner (1888-1964), Edna Alma "Dutchie" Tanner (1890-1940), Ida Katherine Tanner (1891-1971) and Joseph Lusk Tanner (1893-1962)

Maud and Luther then had 4 children: Luther Martin Tanner Jr. (1915-1915), Juanita Hazel Tanner (1916-1965), Louise Tanner (1919-?) and Elizabeth Lucille Tanner (1919-1922).

Luther Jr. died after four months of age and the youngest, Elizabeth, was struck and killed by a car at the age of three years old. Ten months later Maud died of complications to measles at the age of 31.

She was buried in Maple Grove Cemetery in Blytheville in the Tanner family plot.
