Fred T. Spoto, 88 ROCKFORD - Fred T. Spoto, 88, of Rockford died at 1:38 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. He was born March 10, 1922, in Rockford to Ralph and Mary Spoto. He lived his entire life in Rockford, where he married Rose Caruana on Sept. 6, 1942. She died in 1976. He was employed as a tool and die maker by numerous factories in the Rockford area for several years. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. Fred was a member of St. Anthony Church. Survivors include daughter, Marilyn (Rodger) Foster of Rockford; two grandchildren; special friends, Margaret Cooper and family; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
