Old Burlingtonian Succumbs in Chicago Saturday.
Mrs. Anna Hillen, eighty-three years old, an old resident of Burlington, died Saturday evening at the German Baptist Old People's Home in Chicago, where she had been the past year. She suffered a slight stroke on Monday, from which she did not recover on account of her advanced age.
Mrs. Hillen was born near Oldenburg, Germany, on December 29, 1837. She came to Burlington in 1885, and this city remained her home. Mrs. Hillen was a devoted member of the Oak Street Baptist church since her arrival in Burlington.
She was the widow of Ahlert [Albert] Hillen, who passed away about twenty-three years ago, and is survived by four children: Henry Hillen, of Monmouth, Ill.; John Hillen, of Columbia, S. D., and a son and daughter in Germany; and thirteen grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Oak Street Baptist church, Rev. O. E. Krueger officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove.
