Professional Hockey Player. A native of Orangeville, Ontario, 'Bert' Wilson played the position of Left Wing for teams in the NHL, OHA-Jr., CHL, and the AHL hockey leagues. At 6'00, and 180lbs, Wilson was originally selected by the New York Rangers round 2 # 23 overall in the 1969 NHL Amateur Draft. Wilson played for the London Nationals from 1967 to 1969, London Knights from 1967 to 1969, Buffalo Bisons from 1969 to 1970, Omaha Knights from 1969 to 1971, Providence Reds from 1971 to 1974, New York Rangers from 1973 to 1975, St. Louis Blues from 1975 to 1976, Los Angeles Kings from 1975 to 1980, Calgary Flames from 1980 to 1981, and the Salt Lake Golden Eagles from 1981 to 1983. Wilson retired from playing hockey at the end of the 1982 to 1983 season. Wilson died of stomach cancer on February 28, 1992, in Toronto, Ontario, at the age of 42.
