When he returned to Patterson, John served as president of Patterson Frozen Foods Inc. from 1953 to 2008. During that time, he served in a variety of positions related to his business: in 1982 as chairman of the American Frozen Food Institute, in 1989 as chairman for the California League of Food Processors, and as a member of the Hall of Fame of the Order of Zerocrats, the National Recognition of Frozen Foods Industry Leaders, and the United States Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act Industry Advisory Committee.
In the community, he served as president of the Patterson Chamber of Commerce, president of the Patterson High Booster Club and president of the Advisory Board of California State University, Stanislaus. He also served on the Del Puerto Hospital board and the Doctors Medical Center Advisory Board.
As a duplicate bridge player, he achieved Silver Life Master status, and he was an avid Giants and 49ers fan. His favorite activity was spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Ielmini was survived by his wife, two sons, two daughters, and 11 grandchildren.
