Fietzer, Margaret J.

Margaret J. Fietzer, age 84, of N4498 Rosebrook Rd., Town of Belle Plaine, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2004 at Birch Hill Healthcare Center in Shawano, where she had been a resident for the past seven years. Margaret was born December 8, 1919 in Appleton, WI, a daughter of the late George C. and Jeanette (Felzer) Muench. She attended the Manawa schools. Following school, she moved to Milwaukee, where she worked for a year.

On December 21, 1940, she was united in marriage to Elmer R. Fietzer at the parsonage of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco. Following their marriage the couple lived in Symco and Clintonville. In 1947 they returned to live and farm the Fietzer home farm near Symco. They stayed until 1959, when they moved back to Clintonville. Her husband preceded her in death in 1977. Margaret then was employed at various stores in the area, including Coast to Coast, Country Store and Pick-N-Save. She enjoyed gardening, knitting and her grandchildren.

She is a member of St. James Lutheran Church of Shawano.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna (Howard) Bartz, Town of Belle Plaine; five grandchildren: Barbara (Dean) Hansen, Shawano; Gary (Sarah) Bartz and Patricia (Tom) Krause, both of Clintonville; Susan (Jim Elmergreen) Bartz and Craig Bartz, both of Shawano; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Beatrice Buchholz, Waupaca; a brother, Charles (Elda) Muench, Appleton; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Nelson; and a great-granddaughter, Faith Bartz.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church of Shawano. Pastor Fred Zimmermann officiating. Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. Relatives and friends may call at St. James Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. A memorial fund has been established in her name for St. James Lutheran School. Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano is in charge of arrangements.
