Their mother was Sophie Teebken and the family lived in the area of Oldenburg, Germany. Karl, Emma, and Alma emigrated to the United States in 1893 and came to Scribner, Nebraska where John Gerhard Teebken (memorial 11083737), a relative, looked after them. Emil came later.
