He married Mildred Fullmer April 10, 1941 in Farmington, Utah. He was a member of the LDS Church living in the Pleasant Grove 12th Ward. He had been employed at Geneva Steel before his retirement. He served in the Army Air Corps, during World War II, mostly in the European Theatre. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and archery. He was a Jack of all trades.
He is survived by his wife of Pleasant Grove; a daughter and two sons: Cindy Ann Carter, Orem; James L. Carter, American Fork; Danny Lee Carter, West Jordan; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; two brothers and a sister: Ed Carter, Provo; Floyd (Pete) Carter, Chester, Utah; June Woods, Provo. He was preceded in death by a son Gary Carter, a grandson, four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove 12th Ward, 275 E. 500 South. Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 S. 300 East, Pleasant Grove or Monday at the Church one hour prior to services.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
