Brevard came to Albemarle from Charlotte March, 1941, buying the W. O. Ryburn Motor Co. & operating it as Brevard Garrison Motor Co. He was a leading citizen of Albemarle. He was a member of Central Methodist Church, Forty & Eight Club, American Legion Post.
He served in the Navy in WWI and then as a major in the Army in WWII.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife, Aue, son Hargrave Garrison II of Seattle, WA, 1 grandson, 2 brothers, Hargrave Garrison (FAG#59062131), Roddy R. Garrison of Atlanta, GA, 1 sister, Minnie Ann Garrison (Mrs. A. J. Brandes) of Charlotte. Minnie's FAG#85154651.

March 24, 2018 son Hargrave Alexander Garrison II born 5/22/1929 in Charlotte, N. C. passed away in Sequim, Clallam County, WA per The Peninsula Daily News on April 1, 2018. A memorial service was held but place of burial, if any, is unknown. Linde-Price Funeral Home, Sequim, WA was in charge of arrangements.
