The following taken from an old newspaper clipping in my possession;
Rev. Harvey J. Parson (sic), one of Lee County's most prominent citizens, died Wednesday afternoon at his home near St. Helens, He was about sixty years of age, a Methodist Protestant, and a native of Lee County, Virginia. He was a minister of the gospel and one of this county's prosperous farmers. His death was caused by stomach trouble.
Rev. Parson (sic) was a gentleman that was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He had resided in this county about twenty years and had made a host of friends from one end of the county to the other.
About a year ago Rev. Parsons and his wife spent several months visiting relatives and friends near his old homestead in Virginia.
Rev. Parson (sic) leaves a wife and several children who have the sympathy of the entire county.
Rev. Harvey Jackson Parsons is my G. Grandfather.
