WOMAN DIES AFTER ILLNESS

Mrs. Katherine Schwanz, Arcola, Had Been Sick for Five Weeks

ARCOLA, Feb. 14.--Mrs. Katherine Schwanz, wife of Alderman William Schwanz, died at the family home in the west part of the city Wednesday afternoon after an illness of five weeks. She had been in rather poor health for some time and five weeks ago suffered a severe attack of asthma followed by other complication which resulted in her death. The funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with another service following at St. Paul's Evangelical church at 2:30. The pastor, Rev. C. F. Kniker, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Arcola cemetery.

The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sieh and was born on the Marx Rieher farm near Garrett, Oct. 14, 1882, being 44 years of age at the time of her death. The family moved to Arcola during her girlhood and she was married to William Schwanz Aug. 31, 1904. She leaves her husband and two sons, Richard and William and two daughters, Eva and Bernadine, a daughter-in-law and one grandson, Dickie. She also leaves nine brothers and sisters, Henry Sieh, Hans Sieh, Peter Sieh, Mrs. Herman Kutz of Arcola, Mrs. George Hargus of Belle Rive, Max Sieh and Mrs. Charles Tessman of Morrison, Mrs. Mary England, Arthur and John Sieh, Atwood.
