Cuchessi, John Albert, 54, from San Clemente, California, passed away on May 18, 2008. He was born in Orange, California on August 15, 1953. He graduated from San Clemente High School in 1971 and attended Ventura Community College. John's love for bikes and bike repair brought him back to San Clemente where he opened San Clemente Cyclery in 1974. He married Susan Margaret Kilber and together celebrated their 19th anniversary in April. They have one son, Andrew John who is a junior at San Clemente High School. John's love of the outdoors included biking, surfing, windsurfing, and photography. He also loved music and early on in his life he was the lead singer of a band called "The Skunks," and also played the guitar and harmonica. John had a love for dogs; wherever John went, his dog was by his side. John was a very caring and spiritual man who touched the lives of many, from his family to his lifelong friends and strangers whom he met. John passed on his love of surfing to his son, Andrew and could often be seen surfing at San Onofre. John loved being a dad and his most favorite thing to do was to watch and photograph Andrew playing soccer; he was so proud of him. Bike riding was a way of life for John, Sue and Andrew. Together they traveled up and down the super highway of San Clemente. Each Sunday John and his road warriors challenged each other on the bike trails to Oceanside. This is where he took his final ride to heaven and we know he was met by his father John Sr. He is survived by his wife, Sue; son, Andrew; dog, Cody, and mother, Virginia of San Clemente; sister, Kathy Franklin and husband, Jim of Ojai; brother, Tony Cuchessi and wife, Julie from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. John was fortunate enough to have numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends who were very important to him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22 at Lesneski Chapel from 12-6 p.m.. Rosary and Eulogy will begin at 7 p.m at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
