PITTSFIELD, BERKSHIRE Co., MA - Mrs. Angela Carmen (Gaglardi) Burke ( 89y ) d: May 08, 2009 - of Union Court, Pittsfield, died early Friday morning at the Laurel Lake, Center for Rehabilitation in Lee. She was born April 14, 1920, in Amato Catazaro, Italy, the daughter of the late Joseph Gaglardi and Seraphina Scerbo Gagliardi. She came to United States in 1928 and spent 50 years in Pittsfield. She was school in both Italy and United States and was employed in her early years as a machine operator at the former Elmvale Silk Mill. She married Robert Burke on July 04, 1951. He died Sept. 15, 1974. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and a member of Ralph Froio Senior Center and the Golden Seniors. She enjoyed spending time with all her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed traveling, and watching her soap opera's visiting with her family and friends and especially attending the Senior Center. She also enjoyed attending the Church suppers and horse racing. She was a very generous and loving person to her family and friends, She was a noted cook, in her younger years. She leaves two sisters; Jenny Dewkett and her husband William of Lee, Mass., and Rose Vecchia and her husband, Michael of Lee, Mass. She was predeceased by an infant son Francis, two brothers, Joseph Gagliardi and Peter Gagliardi; two sisters, Mary Aiello and Catherine DiGrigoli and her dear friend of many years, Robert Palmer, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. jar END:
