Mrs. Harry Thomas
Dagny Poppe was born at Nelsonville, Wis., on Sept. 4, 1889, and was the eldest daughter of Dr. and Mrs. A. Poppe. The family later lived at Wautoma and Arkdale before coming to this village to reside. Deceased received her education in the high school at Wautoma, the Lutheran college at Red Wing, Minn. and Northwestern University of Evanston, Ill. She was a musician of marked ability, and from 1911 to 1913 was voice teacher at Ouachita College, Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Following her work there, she returned home, and up to the time of her marriage assisted her father in his practice.

She was united in marriage with Harry Thomas of Adams, on Dec. 30, 1917, and they have since been homekeeping in the Keogh residence. Some two weeks ago, she and her sister, Miss Hanna, accompanied their mother to a sanitarium in Milwaukee, and upon their return, she was taken ill with influenza. During her sickness, a child was born, which lived but a day; her sickness developed into pneumonia, and in her weakened condition she was unable to combat the disease, and death came to relieve her suffering, Thursday morning, Oct. 31st.

Mrs. Thomas was one of the most popular young matrons of the village, she possessed a most pleasant disposition, which, combined with a fine tact and ever accommodating manner, made her many loyal and lasting friends. She gave freely of her musical talent, hardly a program was given without her being called upon to take part. She also was often called upon to drill the children in mnsical (sic) numbers, and always gladly responded sometimes at great personal inconvenience.

A private funeral was held at the home of her parents Saturday forenoon at 10 o'clock, Rev. Dr. James Rogers of Waukesha, a brother-in-law of Mr. Thomas, officiating. The interment was at Wautoma. The floral offerings were many, profuse and beautiful. To the young husband, parents, sister and brother, the sympathy of all goes out in their irreparable lose.
