Last Rites Here For Chas. Rieckhoff

Word was received here Sunday of the accidental death of Charles R. Rieckhoff at his home in Watsonville, California, on February 7, 1932.

Mr. Rieckhoff was born in Toledo, Iowa, on August 19, 1866, and came to Orange City to reside in 1882.

During his residence in Orange City he was in charge of the abstract business of William Rieckhoff, his father.

In 1891 he moved to Lismore, Minnesota, where he engaged in the elevator business and supervised the farm lands of W.F. Rieckhoff & Co., of which company he was vice-president.

In 1897 Mr. Rieckhoff purchased a ranch near Watsonville, California, and for many years engaged in fruit farming.

During his twenty-five years residence in California his home was the center of activity for a host of friends.

Mr. Rieckhoff is survived by a brother, W.F. Rieckhoff of Orange City, Iowa and a sister, Mrs. Emily L. Gilbertson of Sheldon, Iowa.

The funeral will be held from the home of W.F. Rieckhoff at Orange City, the date to be determined, and interment will be at Orange City.
