PARKER CITY — Maple Inez (Johnson) Bickel, 91, Parker City, died May 18, 2009, at Parker City Convalescent.

She was born July 25, 1917, in Brownsville, Ky., the daughter of Robert E. and Erma M. (Sanders) Johnson, and resided in Anderson most of her life.

She married Delbert Bickel on Jan. 5, 1965, in Columbia City, and he survives her. They were members of the First Church of the Nazarene in Anderson. She formerly had lived in Louisville, Ky., where she loved attending the Green Acres Baptist Church along with her many church friends.

Survivors include her husband, Delbert Bickel of Parker City; three stepsons, Dean (wife, Anna) Bickel of Muncie, Steve (wife, Jean) Bickel of Indianapolis, and Lee (wife, Sharon) Bickel of Michigan; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, George Randall Johnson of Austin, Texas; a sister, Jessie Mildred Banther of Anderson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Erma Johnson; and brother, John H. Johnson.

Services will be conducted at noon Thursday at First Church of the Nazarene in Anderson with the Rev. Gary Klinger officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson.

Visitation will be one hour before service Thursday at the church.

Arrangements are being handled by Guilkey Funeral Home, Anderson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene.
