An obituary for Dr. Daniel Benton Cain, dated December 29, 1933 (paper not known) reads:
"Dr. Daniel B. Cain, 70, a well-known physician and surgeon, for more than 35 years, died at an early hour Sunday morning at his home in Evansville, IN, following a seven week's illness of heart trouble.
Born in Warrick County in 1863, Dr. Cain graduated from the state normal school in Terre Haute and taught in Warrick County rural schools for two years before entering the Kentucky College of Medicine at Louisville, Kentucky. He established his practice in Newburgh, Indiana in 1895, and two years later went to Evansville.
He leaves the widow, Dorothy; two sons, Burtis U. Cain, of Hollywood, CA and Howard B. Cain, of Glendale, CA and three grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at 2:30 Tuesday at the home with the Rev. R.O. McRae of Central M.E. Church, in charge. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Evansville, Indiana.
Dr. Cain's father, Harold Cain, died last year at his home, near Boonville. He was more than 100 years old."

Benton Cain first married Tilly Hedges. She was the daughter of Allen C. Hedges, (1844-1917) and Sarah Ellen Burns Hedges, (1846-1925). She married Daniel Benton Cain on 10 Feb 1889 in Warrick Co, IN. They had two sons Burtis Une Cain, (1890-1962) and Howard Benton Cain, (1892-1988).
Tilly died in 1927 and Dr. Benton Cain married a nurse, Dorothy Theone, sometime between 1927 an 1930. Dr. Cain died in 1933.
