WALTER STOFFERS
Walter Stoffers 74, of Anamosa died Monday evening Dec. 1 1986, at the Anamosa Community Hospital after several months of failing health.
Walter Herman Stoffers was born June 6, 1912, in Richland Township, Jones County; the son of Hero C. and Marie Catharine Tjaden Stoffers. He received his education in the rural Jones County schools. He worked as a mechanic and as a farmer all his life, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League and Wayne Zion Lutheran Church.
Mr. Stoffers is survived by a brother, Alvin Stoffers of Anamosa; and a sister-in-law, Sophie Stoffers of Anamosa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Fred.
Services for Mr. Stoffers were held at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 4, at Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, rural Monticello, with the Rev. Gary Hatcher officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Zion Cemetery.
