Rose Marie Moore, 80, of Lebanon, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at her home, while surrounded by her daughters and family members.

Rose was born March 14, 1933, in Lebanon, to Victor John Taylor and Dora Naomi (Dye) Taylor.

She was married to Benjamin T. Garrell, deceased, and later married James A. Moore, also deceased. Jim and Rose had retired to Punta Gorda, Fla., where they resided for over 22 years. After hurricane Charlie in 2004 destroyed her home, Rose returned to Lebanon to be closer to her family.

Rose was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Lebanon and a 35-year member of the American Legion Post 79 in Zionsville. Her hobbies included playing bingo, card games and reading books.

Survivors include her four daughters, Lila Garrell of Smithville, Tenn., Diana (Glenn) Northcott and Susie (David) Kirby of Lebanon, and Rena (Jerry-deceased) Parker of Indianapolis; four sisters, Norma Gregory of Kissimmee, Fla., Delores Green of Tulsa, Okla., and Bonnie Batts and Patricia Clark of Lebanon; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Victor John Taylor II and Charles Taylor; and two sisters, Alberta Akers and Myrna Burtner.

Memorial services to celebrate Rose's life will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 28, at Hope Community Church, 665 W. 375 N, Lebanon. Burial will follow at a later date at Charlotte Memorial Gardens in Punta Gorda.
