Clarence Glantz, 78, of Lodi died Sunday in a local hospital after a short illness.
He was a native of Kansas and had lived in Lodi a little over a year. Prior to moving to Lodi he had lived in Stockton for 36 years.
Mr. Glantz had been employed as a welder for many years, working in the shipyards during World War II and in the Stockton-Lodi area following the war.
He had also farmed in the Kingdon and Elk Grove areas prior to retirement.
He was a past member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lodi and was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Stockton.
Mr. Glantz is survived by his wife, Lillian Glantz of Lodi; daughter, Barbara Strawderman of Arnold; one sister, Clara Piazza of Lodi; two brothers, Orland Glantz of Elk Grove and Harold Glantz of San Diego; two grandsons; and two great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Gierhart-Wells & Donahue Funeral Home with Pastor William Crabtree of the Emanuel Lutheran Church of Lodi officiating.
Interment will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is after 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.
